"Football League distributions amount to the highest form of turnover for the company to run its activities. The level of such although beyond the company's control, impacts significantly on the company and its day to day finances including the amount available for player salaries and transfer fees. Season ticket turnover amounts to the highest form of turnover generated directly from the clubs' supporters. The pricing of such and timing of renewals are critical to ensure maximum numbers of tickets are sold in advance of the forthcoming season." From the last accounts. So without money from the FL and people buying ST's in the summer we are ******. So hence encouragement for people to renew early. So hence no massive massive 'discounts' otherwise we can't afford to buy new players, renew contracts etc etc. Just to think on when we all want discounted admittance etc.
Don't particularly want discounted admittance, just for the goalposts not to be shifted at the last minute so as not to **** up my loyally saving over these 3 months of the year every year to loyally buy my ST every season.
At some stage there has to be a price increase for us to remain competitive - even at the lower end of the Championship - at least we get a chance to avoid the increase. In the absence of any other income - and I bairn on about the lack of commercial drive from the top at Oakwell, then we have to make the most of what we've got.
They arent stopping you buying in june/july They are just saying thanks to those that renew before May.
Aye cos commercial and ancillary activities waint yeild much more or will we have got better as a business do you think?
In my opinion I think we ******* stink as a business (non football related) and that's not having a go at those at the sharp end, more the prime decision makers. So if we aren't going to drive that area forward we need to generate the maximum possible from ST holders. That seems to be the business plan.
KHiller could always earn himself a few bob extra with a cup run or 2 or just continue moaning about lack of funds instead. But then PC reckons Carling Cups not worth a wnak until latter stages so thats promoted that first round tie then.
Who will the thanks be going to for your ST purchase? Mummy? Daddy? Grandad? Or the good old taxpayer?
If we perform better in the league and finish higher don't we get more money from the football league distribution? If that is the case then surely it IS in the company's control.
It must be nice to be able to afford to travel to away games, get taxis back from town, afford to go to concerts. Duran Duran wasn't it? And get season ticket paid for early.
