Bearing in mind this Is from a Leeds fan I work with. His best friend has a 17 year old son who's in Blackburn 18s. ( this bit isn't made up as he's mentioned it before) Says the word in Blackburn is that Keith Hill will be their next manager, and him and his mate have had 20 quid each on KH
I just can't see it, I honestly think they have to go for a big name because the fans just won't accept what they perceive to be a gamble. I hope they go for 'big name' manager and leave our Keef alone.
Re: If they were that confident... More likely to get the Bolton gig. I wonder if he's applied for either job? Smart money says he has. Loyalty. Endeavour.
Re: If they were that confident... There are many reasons why this will not happen. Outside of the lower leagues, Keef has only one full season's experience. That season yielded a flirtation with relegation, avoided only by a points deduction for one of our rivals. Blackburn are still on the parachute payment gravy train. Keef's experince in dabbling with coppers doesn't equip him to deal with this situation. With their aspirations towards a quick return to the Prem, Keef's media/PR skills would make Blackburn a laughing stock in the glare of the Sky publicity spotlight. Although the Birmingham game showed Keeffliccker's ability to get a team playing the right way, the three games since have demonstrated that other teams with more experienced managers are able to all too easily outwit them, and to spoil those tactics. This doesn't detract from the fact that Keef and Flicker are doing an awesome job with a club of our size and resources. They have yet to demonstrate that they can extract anything more than survival from the situation, but it's so far, so good. As for Blackburn gambling with our lads - not an earthly.
My mate at work supports Burnley and he's told me there's rumours they're interested in Keith. Hope he's wrong
