    Gets Porn and it's the school's fault ? Silly bitch.</p>

    <div class="ds-headline" id="ds-headline">SCHOOLS IN PORN WARNING</div><div class="ds-firstpara" id="ds-firstpara">A MUM today urged Sheffield schools to tighten up their internet security after her seven-year-old son and his friends accessed porn on their school computer.</div><div class="va-bodytext" id="va-bodytext">Kathy Knowles fears the security lapse at Hackenthorpe's Rainbow Forge Primary could be repeated at other city schools because they use similar systems to block unsuitable material.
    Kathy, of Raeburn Road, Herdings, said the incident had occurred during a &quot;golden time&quot; session at the school - when her son Michael was allowed to go onto the internet to pursue hobby and leisure interests.
    She said: &quot;Michael typed in 'boobies', which is apparently the name of a racing game, and instead found himself able to access pornographic images.
    &quot;Apparently he and his friends thought it was good laugh, like boys do, but I was disgusted that this could happen.&quot;
    Kathy has called on the school and the local authority to toughen up its firewall security systems and has discussed the issue with officers and senior members of staff.
    Most schools employ firewalls recommended by local authority IT experts.
    Kathy is also taking up the matter with the school's governing body and said she was concerned it was not being taken seriously enough.&quot;I know accidents do happen but I would like to know how this happened and I'm not satisfied that the issue is being addressed properly. It could happen anywhere,&quot; she added.
    Rainbow Forge headteacher Rob Poole said three boys had succeeded in getting past the local authority-designed firewall to access questionable material.He said: &quot;Apparently the lad had seen the site before at someone else's house and wanted to find it. Mrs Knowles has met the chair of governors and has gone through the complaint procedures.
    &quot;We are taking this seriously and we have now put our own filter in place - better than the local authority one - and we have tested it ourselves. We are doing all we can.&quot;
    Executive director of children's services Jonathan Crossley-Holland said the authority had worked with Rainbow Forge to make sure its firewall was strengthened.
    &quot;Maintaining firewalls is a continuous process,&quot; he said. &quot;Websites often change their configurations specifically to avoid firewalls and may present a front page that appears quite innocent while containing more sinister content within the rest of the site. We rely on frequent testing and feedback to make sure that our firewalls remain fit for their purpose.&quot;
    Mr Crossley-Holland said sometimes a child was still able to access content inappropriate for their age.
    &quot;This is, of course, distressing for them and for their family and we do everything we can to prevent this from happening.
    &quot;We are now updating our guidance to schools and to parents.&quot;</div><div class="va-date" id="va-date">06 July 2006</div><div class="left"><div class="inactive">« Previous Page</div></div><div class="right"><div class="inactive">Next »</div></div><div class="centre">Page 1 of 1</div>

    not the kids fault as ever. oh no, the school's fault because they allowed them to do it. that's right, also the firewall's fault. nowt to do with the fact that the kid wanted to see some jugs. no no no no no. not the kids fault. not wanting to impress his mates by showing them a site he already knew existed. not the parents fault, no no no no no. take him abroad though for sunbathing on the beach. is it the airline's fault he sees topless women their too?

    Two points

    1) Their is only one way to manage kids on the internet and that is to sit with them whilst using it and don't let them type such things into a search engine.

    2) (maybe a tad pedantic) .. A firewall does not do the job of rejecting what you access. A filter of somekind does. All this talk of firewalls is ball ocks.

    With your spelling

    If you tried searching for porn you'd end up on a chess website anyway.
