as i mentioned on an ealier post

I've been up close when they've slit a cows throat, apart from the barrel loads of blood and the kicking and twitching, it was the gurgling noises that did me. I could hear the life draining out of the poor buggers.

    Just watched yesterday's episode

No problem with it, very impressed with the skill of everyone involved.

The only way it might change what I do is for me to be more likely to buy from a local butcher than from supermarket

Skilled and successful job from the slaughterers. Don't have a problem with it.

Wait till you see the episode on pork when they have to elctrocute the beast and you see it all.

Anyone remember that 70's banned film called 'Faces of Death'? that dealt with all parts of death both animal (pre humane slaughtering) and human.

This is very very tame compared to that

    Funny isn't it

I've watched the vets at work operate on cows/horses/sheep etc and it's never bothered me, but the slitting of both the calf and lamb's throat did get to me a bit. I can't get it out of my head that although they are unconscious at that point, they are still alive.

    Pig tonight.
