    andy ritchie for some reason refuses to approach a club about a player until transfer deadline day.

    Hope this was a genuine comment, and not one to make us think we are after someone like this when we were never going to get him.

    Naughty of me to say, but we have had many instances of trials, loans etc and one reason or another, never taken them.

    no, spelling from a professional journalist

    getting paid as a journalist is important to me. Spelling from a nobody on a internet bulletin board doesnt interest me in the slightest.

    It is also important to me that an airline pilot flies his plane correctly yet I have crashed several times on microsoft's flight simulator for the PC.

    If I made a mistake in my job I could kill somebody. Fortunatly I don't make as many as Mr Knowles and don't then take a cheap shot at the people who correct my mistakes for me.

    but that story reads to me as though 'we wanted him but was going to wait till january before bothering to tell the club that we wanted him'

    just like we waited till transfer deadline day before we started trying to sign a player that we needed.

    If we're after a striker

    What about James Hayter from Bournemouth ? The South Coast club are in dire financial straits and are having to sell their best players for well below the market price . Also , will we be back in for the centre half from Colchester United that we tried to sign back in August ? I can't remember the lad's name .

    If we can afford Boyd,why not try for Chopra?

    No chance.Hayter is quality but would probably be out of our price range,we might possibly put in another bid for Grant holt?
