They'll get a bit more sympathy on here than they do on non-league boards where they are treated in much the same way that Man Utd are on here. Whatever you think of them this seems a bit steep.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/6339377.stm

Given that they played him in 11 games, 18 points doesn't then seem that harsh, how many points did they get in that time?
bit unfair when you remember that Wimbledon were planning to move to a ground in Milton Keynes even before the club collapsed. This meant that many loyal fans may not have been able to attend games. What they did was set up a club for those fans who eventually didn't even have a club to support once WFC folded, however, all the clubs in the league will know the rules and it's just a daft mistake to field a player who is not allowed to play and the punishment is fair.
disgraceful comment Wimbledon fans had their team and league place stolen from them. There was no football history or tradition whatsoever in Milton Keynes and the people there have trampled over the whole of non-league football and just squatted in the league, like cuckoos stealing a nest.
It is to the authorities eternal shame that they ever allowed this disgraceful occurrence to take place.

RE: disgraceful comment You cant put the entire blame on the door of the MK dons, they were only trying to keep a club going in the upper echolons of the league. Try pointing a finger at the ex owner o the club. The man with the tache. The Dons downfall started when he sold plough lane for more than the market value and took the club the slehurt park.
RE: disgraceful comment Could also lay the blame at Merton (I think it was) council, who wouldn't allow another football stadium in the borough to allow Wimbledon to move back.
RE: disgraceful comment No way should a new club be able to start up and go straight into the football league. And that includes stealing the remnants of another club.
No way. Ever.

RE: disgraceful comment Agreed - I was just pointing out that part of the blame lays with Merton council
sorry don't agree this is a new franchise, run by different people in a different town. They've even changed their strip to distance themselves from Wimbledon.
All they wanted of the old club was its league place.
They are cuckoos inhabiting a place they neither belong nor deserve, and which truly belongs to a Conference team.
The day they get their comeuppance can't come soon enough.

RE: sorry don't agree The problems started with haman who sold the ground, then the club to line his own pockets. Regardless wether MK Dons is /was a good idea its all history now and the future has to be looked at. Football will become a franchiase sport given the stupid sums of money flying about the top flight. Mk Dons are starting to flurish without any finacial support as such and are attracting a good crowd per home game. Giving a big **** off to those who sold the orginal club up the creek
