Barnsley are reportedly preparing a £100,000 swoop for Bournemouth's James Hayter. The Tykes recently missed out on Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd, and reports now suggest that manager Andy Ritchie has switched his attentions to Hayter. The Cherries marksman will be out of contract during the summer and his club are keen to cash in before he is allowed to leave on a free transfer. QPR, Plymouth and Bristol City are also thought to be in the frame, although Hayter says the speculation will not affect his performances at Dean Court. "In a way, I just try not to even think about it," he told the Daily Echo. "It's out of my hands and I can't do anything about it. "I've got my job to do. I'm paid by Bournemouth to do my job and I'll be doing that to the best of my ability until I'm told otherwise."
think its nonsense can't afford 100k a couple of cup game profits will go towards paying of our DEBTS. we are in debt, ladies and gents, big debt. we'd be mad to pay 100k think its pure crap personally would like him tho
RE: think its nonsense the only way barnsley are going to get out of debt is to get out of this ***** league and start playing proper teams,if by having to speculate to get goalscorers like hayter then it,s worth it cocker!
As far as I understand it.. we are nor in debt as such, just that we will actuyally take time to run the business at a break even/profitable point. I hope that Shep can back the manager, cos he needs backing, a couple of decent signings now could see us win teh league. Over to thee Gordon...
RE: think its nonsense leeds utd and watford spent big. crippled financially. don't get me wrong, i'd like hayter but 100k for a club that nearly went out of business twice?
RE: think its nonsense Maybe so, but any debts now should be structured and are being serviced. Th eonly reason we went into admin was that we had a short term overdraft facility of £250k wihdrawn by the bank... The point I am making is that if things are being run well now, which they appear to be, at least financially...we may well have cash to spend and indeed the chairman did say we are slightly ahead of budget...
still looking but you've admitted yourself as you will see here or have we paid off all of our debt? RE: think its nonsense i'd rather pay off the debt 1st. 100k is a huge amount for a league 1 club. 25k outlay would be better if we are 100k better off
Not doubting that... PR predicted losses of £3m, £2m and £1m over three seasons. I cannor recal (or never knew) why this was so, but believe it has to do with the Sterling Loan that Doyle took on, plus other associated costs. I believe that PC agreed to underwrite these losses. Again, I am of the opinion that we may have money to spend and the "debt" is, in a way nothinhg to do with day to day cash flow, unless we get our wrong or overspend our budgets
RE: think its nonsense Yes, but the debt is likely to be structured in such a way that means that although we have lost money and are still in debt, we hav ethe cash to service these losses because of PC
