Davey will delve into the loan market rather than throw teenager Kyle Letheren into an Anfield debut. Barnsley have allowed Jamal Campbell-Ryce to join the Jamaican squad despite an injury scare at Coventry. The winger, who did not appear for the second half on Saturday, has travelled to Jamaica for a friendly against Costa Rica at Kingston on Thursday. What do you think? Post your comments below. Davey said: "The Jamaican doctor is to have a look at it." Coventry's Danny Fox was booked for a challenge on the Campbell-Ryce. Davey did not blame the defender for the injury. "It happened in another part of the game. He's got a little bit of pain in his knee," he revealed. "It was a nasty challenge. Sometimes they get a red card, sometimes they go yellow. "He did one after that which I was disappointed with. It wasn't picked up on but I'm not going to moan about it." Davey dubbed the 4-0 defeat at Coventry "a reality check". "There was an air of optimism after signing Anderson (de Silva), Lewin (Nyatanga) and Tony (Warner)," he said. "Perhaps they got a bit carried away with the euphoria and I think there's been a reality check for what is ahead of them and for how much hard work they have to put in to be successful in this division." He added: "We set out to be a competitive side, whether it's 10th-14th or two or three places above where we were last year. "I've got a better group of players, I came here last year and lost 4-1 and we've now lost 4-0 which is a worse <div id="ds-mpu"></div>scoreline. "But I've got better players in my group now so I've improved the squad. "We're moving in the right direction." e star </div>
