I reckon if Muller starts producing last years form he'll be sold and we would then need back up for Steele, so may as well keep Letheren as understudy if he rates him at all.
eh? letheren did not even get a look in when we had no keeper at all. I doubt Muller will be going anywhere until he gets back his form / fitness

I think you are mistaken I very much doubt letheren will be in the running even for 2nd choice. Kept for a year to see if he improves, probably on a low wage??

I may be mistaken but isnt it a rule that you cant offer an extension to a contract on less money. The player has to be released and then offered a brand new contract. Possibly this is what has happened here.
