Seems fair to me. https://www.freebets.com/news/gab-suttons-efl-league-one-1-24-season-predictions-2025-26/
Obviously written before Vickers, Mcgoldrick and others have signed. Even Nwakali 'super passing range' is mentioned. It's a pity he hasn't passed by Oakwell since the start of preseason. Surely he will follow Watters, Cotter and O'Keefe out of the door.
I'm hoping for better. With my tyke-tinted glasses, or perhaps it's just Conor-vision, I think we'll do top 8(ish)*. On first viewing, I think us, Blackpool and Orient are too low.
He knows his stuff about the EFL. He predicted us to finish 17th last season which wasn’t correct but he knew we’d be whank.
I like it when they don't think we'll do owt. We're unknowns and look to be targeting unknowns. That can work two ways.
At this stage, it's a complete guess. Predictions, at least until the window closes are pointless. If we lose Dunn, I think most peoples expectations will lower considerably. If we lose Connell and don't bring in a similar midfielder, maybe likewise (to a lesser degree), if we lose 3 of our 4 midfielders, then expectations will go through the floor. If there's been a pivot from Parekh and his hubris once more extends beyond his acumen and we end up keeping all those midfielders, I suspect expectations would increase considerably. But September is weeks away. And until we all see how it pans out, predictions are complete folly. Though no doubt, most of us will get sucked into it.
I generally agree with the finishing predictions, I have us down to finish somewhere between 10th-15th (will depend on incoming signings) but I have to disagree with the part of that article that states MDG is a decent performer.
Looks like a load of 8ollocks to me, I have a mate who supports Cardiff and he thinks they will struggle, Stockport have signed O’Keeffe and whilst it pains me to say it, I don’t expect Rotherham to be down there either come the end of the season
With the squad as it is wer top 10, if we get our right back an another striker, i'm saying top 6 nailed on. Keep the faith, C,O,Y,R.
It will be interesting to see if Hourihane is cut a lot more slack that his two predecessors, one of whom was sacked whilst we were still in the play offs. Not forgetting Hourihane had 10 games to finish last season and we arguably got worse and finished further away from the play offs than at the time Clarke was punted. It's also fair to say Hourihane looks like he will get a more balanced squad to work with than his two predecessors. The pressure should be on from the outset, if this doesn't work out then there's nowhere else for Sormaz to hide.
As we stand right now we won't trouble the top 6, I think we'll be around mid table. Luton Huddersfield Plymouth Bolton Stockport Blackpool
