Yanks can affrd it though with this new 'beckham rule' regarding wages just look at what NFL players and baseball players get paid over there-madness!
RE: Yanks can affrd it though with this new 'beckham rule' regarding wages But there's far more money in those sports The NY Yankees have the highest payroll in baseball. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/salaries?team=nyy Their top paid player is Alex Rodriguez, who last year was paid $26m, Beckham's works out at $1m a week (so $52m), I can't see how they can possibly pay this in, what is effectively, a minor sport. It's possible that Beckham's includes all sorts of additionals for sponsorship and endorsements whilst A-Rod's doesn't....but either way it is an unbelievable amount.
Beckham is the highest paid sportsman of all time now by 200,000 a week. The second highest is a baseball player at 300,000 its madness!
RE: Yanks can affrd it though with this new 'beckham rule' regarding wages true, but the'll pay whatever they have to to Becks to gloabalise the MLS over there.
According to this the figure is salary and commercial endorsements http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/6358544
