RE: And the alternatives are what exactly? nt There aren't any alternatives but that wasn't the point of the post.
In a General election it will still be a straight fight between..... Labour and the Tories, and between now and the election the economy will show signs of improvement a new leader will be chosen and Labour will figure strongly, although I think they will lose to the Conservatives, the inventors of sleaze.
In my opinion there are several factors: Brown not fit to be PM Their handling of the banks and the subsequent impact on the economy Their record on law and order Being in power too long ***** like Mandleson and Blears to name but two The good friday agreement Expenses Their policy (or lack of) on immigration and Europe in general Unprecedented increases in personal taxation, direct and stealth The welfare state
All valid points, but, the Tories offer nothing more than a change.... of personnel and a far more emphatic devil take the hindmost attitude, if it's one thing I've learned over the years it's never trust a Tory, although the recent events in Westminster has broadened that view to never trust a career politician full stop.
Not now The BNP will target this seat now. The dynamics will be different at a general election: bigger turnout, fewer parties etc, but the public still need to heed this wake up call and stop the BNP. Still the best chance of keeping them out around here is vote Labour, even if means going against your views and voting tactically.
RE: All valid points, but, the Tories offer nothing more than a change.... Thats part of the problem. Labour are a sack of **** but right now i cant see honesty, integrity and good in any politician whether they are wearing Red or Blue.
