I remember a match at Oakwell, England Women's, around 20 years ago. There were several humorous incidents then, owing to the shambolic goalkeeping on display :D I think the standard has improved immeasurably since then.

Two teams from the munitions works in Sheffield played each other in 1917, sold out at 8000, they reckoned 10,000 crammed in on the day.

Thurnscoe v Goldthorpe 1921....7-0 to Goldthorpe, but that was only Thurnscoe East....what would the score have been if it was the whole of Thurnscoe?
