...what's your favourite/abiding memory of it? Also, anyone got any contact details of the lads who did it?
I think for me it was just the fact that we had a fanzine and some good humourous content. It's something that's missing from most clubs these days which is a shame.
Thanks mate - there's a few still knocking about. The one at Donny is decent as well - called Popular Stand.
The cartoons and charicatures. I'm simple like that. Some extremely intelligent comment on the state of the club (and football) at the time too
Just been reading one from '95 - complaining at paying £8 since they opened the new Ponty and selling Taggart too cheap. Some things don't change...
It was so badly illustrated, it was brilliant! Toby Tyke looked like a Itchy & Scratchy character!! It was very funny too and a very varied content. I never knew who made it, but I'll wager Gordon Ottershaw has every issue!
I used to love it; I was reading the 'crowds flock back to Oakwell' issue a few weeks ago. Best fanzine ever.
Me. Absolute stonking read. Seen ya twitter request. I may have a couple knocking about. You can have dont want owt for them. But they will be covered in dust and under about 1000 programmes if I do manage to find them. Will have a look tomorrow night
Proudest moment ever getting my review of the end of season video in. Needless to say lodge wasn't the same after that!
I have about 12-13 issues, all quality. From issue 13 through to issue 34 discussing receiving £150k plus Dave Regis for Rammell. The last paragraph reads like this. "So just remember, the next time Regis jumps for the ball and misses or is clean through with only the keeper to beat only to slice hopelessly wide, if it weren't for him, we wouldn't have made £150k and we would still have Andy Rammell. think about it"
Spot on abart the illustrations, the ones involving david currie were very funny,my favourite was the viz inspired ged taggart and Ian banks piss up in Japanese snipers,******* brilliant.
Didn't Matt1575 have something to do with it? It would be great to assemble the whole lot and scan them.
Tilernaut Haven't read that issue for over 20 years as I lost it, but from memory Carl Tiler tackled anything and everything in his way, including the breakfast table.
Best roach material I ever had - not that I do anything so stupid as read satirical football material these days..!!
Steve Cooper's Masterclass - "Notice how the boot is angled to ensure clean removal of opponent's head"
