I don't like to say it but when it comes to big games lampard is just not up to it!! He is fantastic when he comes up against the likes of sheff u but at this level he is not good enough (N)
He has never had a good game for England. His averageness has been masked by him playing in a club side full of very good players who make up for his obvious limitations.
Once Ballck gets back from suspension , Frankie boy better get ready to start riding the bench. To be a great player you have to have more than one string to your bow and "arriving late" in the box doesnt qualify as multi-skilled.

Crouch arrives late in the box............. I bet his bird will be in the papers about that one tomorrow, arf! ff
RE: He has never had a good game for England. Totally agree the great players in chelsea's team will put him out on the bench untill he is worthy of his place!
Have to agree, but then again who is up to it ? I seriously think that we are vastly overrated as a nation in footballing terms. Appointing McLaren was a big mistake but whoever had got the job as the saying goes "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". Rooney, Gerrard and Terry apart who have we got that can be called world class ? In the long run I suppose it'll save us the disappointment of another major tournament letdown 'cos this time we won't even be there.
Lampard is a choker, his international career has been mediocre............. to say the least, he could'nt lace Gerrard's booits, 50 caps, 5 or 6 six decent performances, ***** ratio, ***** attitude.
With all due respect - I disagree. Look at Scotland. Ok they lost tonight, but with players far inferior to ours they can turn over Italy and France. Look at Greece at the last Euros - they won and with what? It's not acceptable to say 'We haven't got the players'. We have to get off our arses and compete. Any team that plays England and takes three points should feel like they've been through hell and got away with their lives. As things stand, if we picked the very best players in the world, we'd still get beaten by sides better organised than us. It's not going to get any better than this. We can either wait for a 'golden generation', that's never going to come, or we can win with what we have. It starts with the manager getting them organised, motivated, and doing the right things. McClaren is well out of his depth.
