Evening boys and girls.I've been looking at holidays for Lanzarote but there,s loads of different resorts to pick from.Whats peoples views and recommendations.?
Looking for busy but not too over crowded with music and live entertainment required.

Don't think anywhere is overcrowded. Playa Blanca is nice with a long promenade and a ferry to Fuertaventura where you can spend a half day. Might be too quiet for you. Puerto Del Carmen is the Lanzarote equivalent of Playa de Las Americas but nowhere near as busy. I'd guess that's the type of resort you're after.

Found some decent live music in Playa Blanca.

Puerto Del Carmen more Karaoke and disco.

Matagorda great for getting off the plane and being on holiday instantly. 5 mins from airport.

Puerto Del Carmen is best by far for me mate. Plenty busy enough, good restaurants and bars. It has brilliant newish promenade. We always stay around the Harbour in the “Old town”

I would recommend Playa Blanca. Plenty to do and busy enough but not over crowded at all. The ferry over to Fuertaventura is worth doing if you fancied doing something different and visting another canary island .

Sounds good.Like I say live music and a few bars to go at would suit me down to the ground.

We stayed at the Hotel Grand Teguise Playa about 15 years ago so it could have changed. It was a great central location, right next to the beach, had varying quality of entertainment acts on an evening (with a bar area that slowly rotates so you don’t have to worry about getting seats at the front but a devil to find your seat again if you nip to the loo whilst a bit tipsy!) and loads of plants hanging from the balconies in the main area and things that looked pretty cool. It had a decent pool or two if I remember correctly too. Carpets and things were a bit tired so hopefully they’ve updated them or they’ll be even more so now :D it was very near a karaoke bar that was good fun and also had various acts on and there were plenty of places to eat nearby. Like I say, it was a while ago and I was less discerning then in my early 20s. Maybe it’s because it was my first holiday abroad with a boyfriend (now husband of 11 years) but I remember having a great time. Not sure if it was the time of year, and I don’t know your age, but a lot of the guests were quite a bit older than us!

Edit: I’ve just remembered that they did free champagne with the breakfast buffet too!

I think you'll be fine with any of the main resorts Brian. We've been to Puerto del Carmen a few times and always enjoyed it but last year we went to Costa teguise which was great and definitely our new favourite, there's a lovely little square with plenty of bars and things going on.

Costa Teguise, absolutely lovley, not hectic but plenty of bars, lovely beaches, did playa Blanca a few years ago, found it boring and a place I would never go back to,but Costa Teguise and Calleta in Fuerteventura are my best resorts throughout the canaries, obviously subjective but I don't think you'll be disappointed in Costa Teguuse

I like Puerto del Carmen. Plenty of decent bars & restaurants & something for everyone.

I’ve been to Playa Blanca & there was a big group of us in an all inclusive. It didn’t feel like there was much going off in the town. Not that many places to eat & drink

We went to Playa Blanca back in 2014 for first time, fell in love with it, and been six times since.

Like others said, it's not the resort for late night bars / discos but is plenty of live music bars on the sea front.

The promenade must be about 2 miles long, endless restaurants and bars. Marina is a nice place. Three beaches spread out across the resort.

We went last year and it's still the same with the revolving floor.
Plenty of bars within 10/15 minutes stroll.
    Brilliant hotel, but not cheap.

Costa Teguise is tip top if you want a chilled out family atmosphere , plenty of bars in the square and dotted around the resort plus plenty of good restaurants.
THB Lanzarote beach hotel (ex be live experience) is decent as it's bang on the beach but it could do with a refurb, the staff are great mind and will bend over backwards for you.

We tend to stay at the Oasis Lanz, 2 minute walk to the beach and the centre however there is a bit of building work going on at the minute but it didn't bother me too much when I was last there in mid November but I'm more a beach bum than lounging round the pool all day kid.

Resort can get a bit breezy now and again. Not known as breezy Teguise for nowt ;-).........sithi.

We've been twice to Lanzarote and hardly seen the sun, it's prone to cloudy weather and can be very breezy as are all the Canary islands, all in all we must have spent 20 weeks in the Canaries and had 3 weeks of good holiday weather.

I liked Costa Teguise. Its a nice small area with some great bars, restaurants etc. I think as most people say, the breeze can be an issue. I saw they had snow in the Canary Is recently. I think the main thing for me if i was going back right now is to get the best hotel, location etc
