Laptop or iPad?

    Ayup.

    I've been using mi works laptop for a couple of years ivry day for the usual browsing ballacks at home. A few downloads, games etc.

    Nar the bast ards at work are gi'ing me a new un that I can't download owt on - mainly music, films etc etc.

    Nar is it worth me buying a cheapish laptop or am I just as well gerrin an iPad or other tablet? What's pros/cons?

    Laptop. Ipad is too fiddly when it comes to putting films on it etc you are tied to mainly using itunes - of course you can convert stuff etc, but for what it sounds like you want i still reckon laptop would suit you better.

    Its hard to say,
    For videos Internet and browsing ****e then iPad, but depending what games you play the. Laptop.

    I think the iPad is fantastic only had mine for a short time, and when I'm on the Internet, you tube the iPad is super

    Based entirely on what you have said you will be using it for I'd say you'd be better off with a laptop.

    For me it would come down to storage

    The laptop would typically have a 500gb hard drive. The tablet would have, er, no hard drive. At best 16-32gb memory.

    This is what I have trouble with, understanding the popularity of tablets. I can't get past that one fundamental flaw. Doesn't it render them next to useless?

    They look good, though.

    Like sat on a train with it on your lap with your iPhone on the table in front and then an iPod in your pocket and the Airbook in your bag.

    I'm gerrin a laptop.
