Forgive me for putting that headline in the main box, but don't you think looking round the supermarkets and going up to the hospitals and diferent work-places that this lardy pantomime is getting out of control. I know people have a different kinds of eating habits ,than they had in the so called early 60s and 70s and that in those days people and young children had more exercise and play ground activities. But looking round the population in the 2000s has all the after school exercise gone into a games and internet revolution, and the good young people are heading to a life of dependabillity and shortness of life. I wonder what other board members think?
Budge up add to that the ease of which to obtain alcohol and the american style eateries which are so fashionable for some reason.
Its not just kids who don't exercise anymore, adults too. Locally, in Harrogate area, we used to have 2 sets of Sunday Leagues. One with 7 divisions of about 15 teams and another with 3 divisions of about 12 teams. Nowadays there are one lot of leagues consisting of 4 leagues of 15. What has happened? Why is nobody playing sport anymore? On the Harrogte Stray there used ot be about 15 pitches, of which most had a game played on it every week. Very rarely see any on there anymore. How times have changed.
Agreed we are faceing a situation where a generation younger than us are likely to live a shorter life, I thinkthe types of workcould be having an affect aswell, notso manylabour intensive(graffting) jobs as there used to be, lots of folk sitting at a desk all day then going home and doing the same instead of breaking a sweat and burning off the lard.(popcorn) (puke)
RE: Not so may Lardys in Harrogate though mate More likely to be Lardy in Starbeck and Bilton though mate. The yummy mummys drive their chelsea tractors to the gym when theyre not cheek kissing each other mwah mwah
We eat less calories than we used to! I'm involved in a project about Type II Diabetes and all the research says calorie consumption has been going down for over a decade. Unfortunately, dishwashers, washing machines, microwaves, office jobs and cars have been going up, meaning we burn far less calories than we used to. It's not that we eat more, its that we move less. strange but true.
RE: Not so may Lardys in Harrogate though mate Above average standard of chav in Starbeck and Bilton.
They do PE lessons sat in front of a computer these days.
When given more information and resources, people just seem to get lazier.
