    they have a javelin throwers action a la Geoff Thomson-their arm is staright at the elbow when they bowl-now that Muralitharan is a different thing altogether

    but Malinga does go a bit suspect at times. Murali has got that much movement going on that it is often difficult to tell. Personally, I think the spinners should be given a bit more leeway than the fast bowlers.

    why?

    a throw is a throw- I can spin a ball pretty well with a very bent elbow-the skill is doing it purely with the wrist and / or fingers alone

    more dubious than Muralitharan's. Sri Lanka have been getting away with iffy bowlers for years.
