I have been up in 'Gods Country'... stayed at Burythorpe ... 4 miles South of Malton near York. Was up to attend my Uncle Ernies Funeral in Scarborough. Decided to make it a bit of a sojourn and visit my Mam and Dads old place too... Its been a great therapy for an exile... one thing I did notice about a lot of the towns and villages of North/East Yorks was their Cricket grounds... I passed a lot of so called 'village' grounds and wow they were absolutely fabulous. I guess that area is really a hallowed ground as far as cricket is concerned just lie west Yorks is a Rugby league bastion. But before anyone jumps on me...
