Number of points which sixth got (not the number of points they needed. For instance, Chesterfield got only 69 last year, but there was a gap to seventh. 66 would have secured it; 69 is what they got.) 69, 74, 74, 73, 71. 73 points would probably do it, or seven wins out of 12. It sounds a lot, but so does 11 from 13. It'll be less if you look at 'points needed to secure', which I haven't done because I have to go to work. Wish paul d. was still on here!
Easy enough to find Points and GD required to finish above 7th Year Points GD 2015 65 +1 2014 67 +3 2013 71 +8 2012 73+13 2011 70+10 2010 73+39 but should be 80 +26 as Southampton in 7th had 10 points deducted Based on current season though 6th is currently 52 points from 33 games or 1.58ppg which is 72.5 points so around 73 points looks to be the target to just sqeak in in 6th
I think we can do better than 6th...Gills and Walsall both seem to be starting to struggle to keep their early season momentum going, if we can maintain the current form 4th or 5th are possible.
We're currently averaging 2.5 points per game, we'd need to drop no lower than 1.5 ppg to get 73/74 points. It's a big task to maintain the form we've shown since Dec/Jan right through to May. imho we're in bonus territory considering how things looked 3 months ago . I hope the club are prepping as much as they can to keep this squad together next season come what may.
We have some very winnable home games. S****horpe, Chesterfield, Oldham, Colchester. This weekend will be very important. Win on Saturday and we're in amongst them, then they have to worry about keeping pace. I still reckon Millwall will miss out.
