Apart from the first 25 minutes there was a massive improvement yesterday. We attacked down both flanks and as the second goal showed our full backs actually came forward. Its beggars belief why we don't do this at home every week, why we revert to negative tactics and long balls because when we actually try to play it on the ground we do so much better.
I thought Misfud looked a little off the pace but took his goal very well and should of had at least one more. Even Macken who i don't rate at all had a good game, still think he is too slow to make it at this level - just don't see him scoring enough goals to warrant a place in a championship attack anymore.
One thing i have to say is that im more or less sure that last night will be another false dawn, it was typical Davey and Barnsley over the past 2 and a half seasons, we play shockingly week after week then thrown in a great performance to give us all hope again. Too many times have we failed to kick on so im afraid one result doesn't make everything ok again for me, hopefully we will now get the wins under our belts that we need to stay up but then when its all over Mr Davey must be shown the door so this club can try to improve after another poor league campaign.

Yet again Not unlike a kid who swots up the night before a crucial exam and manages to get through it, SD pulls a performance from his team that stops the boat rocking - or sinking even. Like a yoyo it is, and has been since he's been in charge. Many false dawns along the way. The players appear to be good enough but how long will PC wear it?
I think the priority is to get behind the team for the last few games and then evaluate the season and main thing get rid of davey and get an experienced manager in
Saturday will be interesting If you asked me to write down our strongest formation, I think last night's would have been it. No Souza or Van Homoet; Hassell, Foster and de Silva all playing. We played positively and won, but we also played at home. Hopefully the team will remain unchanged for Saturday - I'll be interested to see what happpens when we play away from home though - will all that positivity just drain away?

if he's dropping anyone from last night, its gotta be Colace. tracked back and covered well, but gave it away too cheaply at times. but saying that, i wouldn't drop anyone. Andranik should be on the bench. you can't get a red card then come straight back in.
RE: My guess Well that's exactly my fear. Andranik is a good player. But Davey sometimes just likes to field his 'senior' players and let them trip over each other without any regard for formation or balance.
On the other hand,Davey doesn't usually change a winning team. So here's hoping.
