I really enjoyed it. We looked fit for the first time in I don't know how long and managed to keep up the pace for 2 halves.
Williams was awesome - what a player he is, he never stopped working or trying and both goals were class. How he failed to get a regular spot last season I have no idea except of course PHart was in charge!
The team played as a unit and knew what their respective jobs were - something hardly seen last season.
Ozzie got stuck in and will be an excellent replacement for Hassell, a shame about Bobby as he looked the business towards the end of last season.
Someone mentioned that Shukes had a quiet game and I would agree with that, but that's because he was hardly involved as although he was screaming for the ball for most of the match, no one seemed to be passing to him and therefore it was difficult for him to get foraward with the ball and wreak havoc.
I liked the look of Hayes, he's tall, commanding in the air and worked hard, there are goals in him that's for sure. His partnership with Nads could well be the surprise of the season.
One other thing I noticed - the players were shooting at goal from all angles and whenever they had the chance , none of this fancy walking the ball into the box.
I feel really optomistic after tonight and can't wait for the season to start
    Bring on Swindon!

Well said, even carbon suprised me! still not 100% sure hes the one for the league matches tho. Flinders looked good along with tongue, austin and williams. with 5 academy graduates in the startng line up things looked good. nice to see kay back in midfield looked gud and supported the strikers well.

    Bring on the season!

I agree, I though that Carbon had an excellent game. He worked very hard, put in some commanding tackles, intercepted well and there wasn't much that got past him all night until he went off. If Ritchie can keep him fit and motivated then there's the commanding Centre Half we need, Nivver thought I'd be saying that about Carbon lol!
