Steele Golbourne Kennedy Mcnulty Wiseman O`Brien Etuhu Mellis Dawson O`Grady Pedersen How were we actually supposed to attack last night with a formation that gives nearly zero attacking threat?
I'm not having that. It was more like:- Steele Golbourne Kennedy Mcnulty Wiseman O`Brien Etuhu Mellis Dawson O'Grady Pederson
It was a really bad night then cause Steele looked about 42. He must have had a right shitty paper-round when he was young
Flicker was reiterating it was a game plan of containment. How about attacking a second string at home in a one off cup game

I tweeted after half an hour or so that we seemed to be switching seamlessly between 3-5-2 and 5-3-2 to reasonable effect, but that there was zero link up between the midfield and the front two. 3-5-2 should be giving us the flexibility of someone sitting forwards in midfield, just behind the front 2, but there was bugger all. The two predictable outlets were JOB hurling aimless diagonal crosses to the edge of the box, and the odd bit of pace down the left leading to an overhit cross. If it's so feckin' obvious to us mere mortals, why can't seasoned managers & coaches see it too??
Dunno, but listening to Flitcroft's interview it seems things were going according to plan, first half especially. If he's not protecting his players by saying that and truly believes it then that's worrying imho.
I have no idea when i realised we were still playing with 3 centre midfielders and no support to the strikers i just completely gave up on watching the game. The Dawson goal gave me the most minimal excitment because i knew a goal would only come from a good solo effort. I give up on what the Management team actually did during the game because there was no point having two strikers when there was no one to link with them
