Very interesting that although 50 is considered the benchmark for survival, in most seasons 45 was enough. Needing 50 or more is a real outlier. Also very interesting that barring a total meltdown we're likely to pass our entire 2013-14 total in January / February.

Another 22 points is enough according to that then. Think we won't be looking up nor down this season with the start we've had.

We can look up though we are only 5 points off the play offs. We still have all the playoff teams exept reading to play at home.

Have you got the stats to hand for play-off positions? I honestly think we are more likely to be play-off candidates than relegation candidates - especially if there are none of our top players leaving in January. I even had a small wager on promotion the other day at 150/1.

It's nice to dream sometimes - if it's a nice dream. Blackpool got promoted with 70 points. If we win on Boxing Day we'll have 34 points at the half-way point. 36 in the second half of the season would give us 70. It's not such an outrageous idea.

Playoffs definitely doable, first time since 2007 we've been in the top half of Championship at Xmas. 2017 is our year, markmiwurdz.
