    Sorry to be pedantic but didn't we play Southend away on a Friday night in third round then Blackpool at home in the fourth round.
    Could be my senile old memory is playing up tho'

    Blackpool in the 3rd and Southend in the 4th.

    I only remember because I specifically remember saying that for such a poor performance against Blackpool, we deserved nothing more than an away trip to somewhere like Southend, and that's exactly what we got.

    Michael Coulson of all people, came off the bench to change the game.

    Had a hand in Fosters' equaliser then scored the winner if I remember right. All within 10 minutes of coming on.

    Campbell Ryce scored that screamer at Southend. That deserved a trip to Anfield. Think JCR was an unsung hero of that cup run.

    Seem to remember going to penalties years ago away at their place and Paul futcher missing the decider. Was that the league cup though and did it even happen, my memory is shocking?

    Yes league cup. Mark Robinson was so poor in that game the players refused to pass to him

    We played in navy. Blue and the floodlights were so poor the players couldn't be seen at far end of pitch
