UPDATE on the Chris O'Grady deal and Ross Turnbull, this is from The Star newspaper. The Star can exclusively reveal the Reds and the Owls have settled on a fee in the region of £300,000, with O’Grady set to pen a two-year deal at Oakwell subject to personal terms being agreed. Barnsley had an initial bid for O’Grady turned down at the end of last season and boss David Flitcroft admitted: “The deal is dead, I’ve given up hope of signing Chris. I’ve got to pursue other targets now.” And speaking exclusively to this paper, O’Grady also revealed “I’m happy to stay at Sheffield Wednesday if they want me.” But in an incredible U-turn, Flitcroft tabled a second bid for the player last week and the two Championship clubs have now finally agreed a transfer package. The Star understands O’Grady, who scored six goals while on loan at Barnsley last season, is keen to sign with his opportunities limited at Hillsborough. The 28-year-old frontman played a key role in helping the Reds avoid relegation last season and his partnership with fellow striker Chris Dagnall, with whom he played with at former club Rochdale, is understood to be a key reason why he wants to play at Oakwell next term “We’re discussing personal terms with Chris, so hopefully we can get something sorted this week,” Reds’ director Don Rowing told The Star. The Reds have been linked with a potential move for loan keeper Ross Turnbull. The former Chelsea shot-stopper is a free agent after failing to land a new contract at Stamford Bridge. Turnbull, aged 28, played three games on loan for Barnsley in 2004 and then 24 games in the 2004-05 season. The keeper started his career with Middlesbrough and has had other loan spells with Darlington, Bradford City, Crewe Alexandra and Cardiff City. Turnbull, who has represented England at Under-16 through to Under-19 level, was signed by Chelsea in July 2009 on a free transfer, on a four-year contract, and made 18 appearances for the first team in league and cup competitions.
I thought Turnbull was just somebody on here seeing he'd been released and opening up the idea. I'd be really surprised if we replaced Steele with him, in fact I'd be speechless.
So you want him to tell you about the time you mentioned it, but he's not allowed to mention the time you mentioned it...
Well you tell me when have I ever mentioned it? You tell lies and slurrs but don't like it back, well tuff
That's the only time i've mentioned it and that was a bit of a dig. I don't mention it for three reasons.
