It's getting a bit giddy about him isn't it? don't get me wrong l liked him when he was here but there's no way he's a £7 million pound player. He's 21 year old he never made an appearance for Man U, played 20 odd games for us in the third tier and scored 1 goal in 20 odd appearances for a terrible Premiership side who then dropped him.

Leeds were constantly linked with Fletcher. Never happened. Monk is now manager at Middlesbrough. Easy rumour.

£7 million is f*cking mental, though.

If it turns out to be true then £7 million is just crazy also would probably mean we were never in the running,

Unless West Ham don't want to cash in on him and think that that a year at championship level could prove brilliant for his development. Even more so than going to another prem side and warming their bench. But I hope the club are casting their net far and wide looking to secure 2 strikers. 1 who can play as a target man if required and another quick goal poacher...

I'm also wondering what he has done to deserve such a price tag and reputation. Is that what 5 goals in League One gets you these days?

Not worth more than two million in my opinion. Might be worth seven if he's the top scorer in the Championship this season.

Let's suppose West Ham said 2 million and he,s yours could we afford him I know it,s not as simple as that there will be other suitors for sure.

You're probably right but in another thread a player is discussed who one club paid £4 million for based on youth appearances.

    Games gone mad

The games been mad for years, this year its due to be sectioned. I've no idea how this bubble can keep continuing, but I've expected it to burst for about 10 years. When it does finally pop, it's going to be a belter!

Its beyond unsustainable, this won't last or keep escalating. May be a few more years, maybe a decade, who knows, but there is a limited number of people globally who can keep churning out millions/ billions for vanity and the cascading effect it has.

A 20-1 pay cap from lowest to highest would be.... entertaining, be interesting to see if he'd inflict that on football or exempt it

It was discussed in another thread. Price and value.

    His price is £7million (maybe)

His actual value is X. If he gets 25 goals that value is immeasurable.

Fascinating fact. Ashley Fletcher and Keith Hill attended the same secondary school.
