About 2am from Wimbledon (Plough Lane) League cup late 80's. Won the match, lost the tie.

Seem to recall it being about 3am when we got back from Portsmouth in the promotion season after conceding 4 and thinking that we had just blown promotion. **** me that was a long miserable journey :-(

Following night, listened to Grimsby beating Wolves on a crackly Radio Humberside commentary and danced down the street. 3 days later...... :)

Can't tell if that was a reply to me. I went on the coach, but had to drive back from Oakwell.

At least it's Easter hols, JD. Unfortunately I'd volunteered myself to do some coursework intervention today, so had matchsticks holding my eyes open 9-3 :(

About 1 am from the Galpharm. Lost 1-0 in the last minute when Simon Baldry trickled it over the line in front of us. Went to the players entrance. Best part of that was Nicky Eaden limping back on the coach on his mobile saying "mum i'm hurt". Didn't want to bother asking anyone for a lift so had a nice walk.

    5:15am.

We played Portsmouth away on a Tuesday night, the promotion season. Got beat 4-2 as well.

    Horrific coach ride back...

You seemed a bit nervous/unsure about going on the coaches alone beforehand just wondered if you would, after experiencing it, do it again.

It was probably a different experience as there were so many of us (over half), I could have probably asked anyone around me for help if I was lost. I'm not sure if I would or not, I thought the coaches would be full of banter and songs, but no-one spoke to anyone, not even their own group, as they were too busy on their phones and/or with headphones in.

Aye plenty of young uns attached to their phones in their own little worlds on club coaches, like Deetee says so much more atmosphere on pub coaches.
