In my honest opinion he praised Barnsley in that sly underhand way that sometimes commentators do - 'good for a small club' etc. There was one moment when we got a break, ball went from Steele directly to Odejaye, header down, Ferenczi lay off, Howard shot at the keeper.. Lawro 'It's easy to see what Barnsley's game plan is, big ball up field' etc etc... Motty even said 'It's hard to understand why Kozluk is playing for a lower league side like this'. Pisses me off - what have you got to do to get some respect? If we beat all four of the big four and actually won the cup, you'd have Alan Hansen saying 'not bad for a small town with flat caps and whippets'. Actually, to be fair to Alan Hansen - he backed the safe money from the beginning, but looked genuinely delighted at the end when we got the result and he suggested that after winning at Liverpool and beating Chelsea, we could go on and win the whole thing. Lawro is still a dour **** though Mick McCarthy is a god. 'We've come here twice, lost 1-0 a couple of times - but we really got slapped, really got slapped, and should have lost by four or five'.
I watched it when I got back and liked what McCarthy said at the end. "I've had some great matches here but this has to be one of the best"
