Strikers Not seen the best of Mostto, anyone with knowledge of the game would appreciate the time it takes for South Americans to acclimatise, Souza obviously benefitted from spending time in Europe. Lets see what happens later in season. I suspect Christensen lacks the close control that Stan has so is cover at best. Odejayi has jumped 2 leagues and providing the crowd dont totally destroy his confidence, will improve with experience. Look at Akinbyi, hounded out of Leicester and turned into a 20 goal striker at Burnley. I dont see Coulson as a starting option Im afraid. 20 minutes of running about doesnt suddenly make him a different player than the one who struggled when out on loan in the Conference. In time, he may develop, but he's nowhere near ready, hasnt scored the goals at lower level that Odejayi has for example. I'd have Christensen on the bench as the 'impact player' before him, everytime. I think Macken has been the best striker we've seen for many years at Barnsley, I sincerely hope we can do a deal to bring him back. If not, we need someone similar, of proven Championship ability.
reasonable synopsis Would like to see Mostto given 90 preferably with Macken. Ferenczi needs a break and despite Coulson putting in a good spell at Scunny I cant imagine what Christensen has done to get Coulson on the bench in front of him.
for 300k christensen should have played more than 175 league minutes We've played 25 league games since he signed for us (2250 minutes) yet he has only played 175 minutes and scored once. For £300k I would expect the manager to have a little more faith in his own striker than that, especially when the others don't seem to know what the big white rectangle thing with netting behind it is for and he's having to call up the likes of Coulson to cover. £300k for 175 minutes. Nice one
RE: Strikers I think we may get Macken back come the end of the month. If and when we get the points that make us safe for this season, i think Davey will change the team around and give the fringe players a run out eg Mostto ,Ricketts, Johnson, Kim, and Coulson, until we get the points i don't think Davey as the confidence to play these players regulary. Just my thoughts.
So what There's **** all use buying him if you're never going to play him. Does the fact that he's never started a game make him a good signing?
RE: So what I just think it's unfair to group all 3 strikers together to form a statistic when two of them haven't had a fair chance. From what I've seen and read of Christiansen I think he could be a good signing, obviously Davey has an issue with him, and maybe once that's ironed out we'll have a pretty useful striker on our hands. I also think if Mossto had started 15+ games this season he would have managed more than the solitary strike KO has rustled up.
