https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-one/table Ipswich are really out of form. It would be nice to see Wycombe take their place of that of Derby in the play offs.
I don't expect any team outside the current top 7 to finish in the top 6. It's hard, however, to predict which of the current top 7 won't make the top 6. I'm expecting a return to form from Ipswich. We've taken 32 points from our last 14 games, yet we still haven't shaken off Wycombe. It looks set to be a nail-biting finish.
It will. There are 5 games to play against teams currently in the top 7 - 4 of those are at home. Interestingly, out of the 7 games already played against those teams, there’s been just one win.
The game against Wycombe who are 7th may well be the biggest one of the lot with a possible 6 point swing. Beat them and a top 6 finish looks a lot easier. Lose and it gets a lot more difficult.
The next 8 fixtures look pretty daunting but if we come out them with 15/16 points we'll comfortably be in the play off picture still.
Beat Cheltenham and Derby in the next two games and Wycombe become Derby's problem - we'd be at least 2 points above Derby with a game in hand (although Derby then play Cheltenham, so at worst, we'd be 1 point behind with 2 games in hand).
Fairly hopeful about Cheltenham, Derby is a big game though - we have been turning over the average and poor sides - its the good ones that we have yet to prove ourselves against. Havent beaten a top 7 side at home yet ( Though did do the Massives at their place) The two we have played at home lost to both Wycombe and Bolton 3-0, though the Bolton one was hampered by the early sending off We need to fix that poor home run I dont think we can be too unhappy at the away performances losing to Plymouth and Derby early on before we got going and then beating Wednesday and drawing at Ipswich and Bolton but its our home form against the top teams that needs some questions answering
Need to start performing better against the teams up there with us. Already lost to Plymouth, Wycombe, Derby, Bolton etc albeit earlier in the season, one would hope the team becomes more settled the more games we play & bedding in new & returning players.
Its quite simple really. No need for maths. No need for possible permutations. If Barnsley win every game left Barnsley are promoted. N.B. I realise that I've just suggested a permutation but you know what I mean.
