    I've known of people turn up for their first day and then never come back....one guy went for his lunch on first day, leaving his briefcase in the office, and didn't come back!

    Mate of mine left York to start his new job in Bristol. When I finished work that evening I popped into our local for a pint and there he was. Top going. Great thing was he also got a £2k advance which he then drank and never paid back!
