http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1311552,00.html BARNSLEY manager Simon Davey has signalled his summer intentions early by making five players available for transfer. Istvan Ferenczi, Sam Togwell, Paul Reid, Andy Johnson and Kim Christensen are all available for transfer and set to leave Oakwell this close season. Speaking exclusively to Barnsley World TV, Simon said: "It has been common knowledge for a while that we have made Paul, Andy and Kim available but we have also added Istvan and Sam to that list. We have players available for transfer and we have to make sure that we improve our squad this summer and unfortunately that will mean that people have to go out the other way. I have had to make those decisions. "Paul, Andy and Kim have not featured this season and we have had to look at that. It would be better for all concerned if they move on and play. The same goes for Sam and Istvan and they have not been involved as much as they would have liked. It would not be fair to them to sit on the touchline for the next year when there are people in front of them. Sometimes players have to move for the sake of their own career and I have been honest with them all about that. "I do not want to keep players here just to be a sub and maybe if we move some out we will be able to juggle our budget this summer and get other ones in. At the end of the day there are only eleven players who can go out in any game and I have to put a squad together that can move forward and improve us. "It would not be fair of me to come out and publicly talk about improving as a squad but still keep these players at the club when they have not been involved. I am sure that they will all go on and have excellent careers elsewhere but it is not the right time for them here".
well............ hope he has better replacements lined up because I think Stan and Togwell would be good squad players
He said earlier in the season he would most likely be off in the summer in an interview prior to the Liverpool game.
Stan andpetealmost single handedly stopped the rot and brought a much needed work ethic.
Still think he can do a job for us even if its just a squad player.

Certainly agree on Togwell You never know whats happened though, Togwell might have said he wants first team football and we can't guarrantee him that. Good look especially to Reid
but thats exactly what davey is saying he doesnt want squad players , he wants better players to improve the team.. good in my opinion as neither togwell or stan will get in out first 11

There is only really Stan that I am surprised to see on there, he does not score that many but he will always give you 110% effort, Best of luck Stan.
That's fine with me, but how the hell has Dwayne Mattis made the cut? And what has Miguel Mostto done to deserve his place in the squad? And I'm still baffled by the faith Davey has in Odejayi.
mattis might be happy sitting his contract out Letting Togwell go mind, unless we've a quality replacement lined up is a large error imho. Relying on Bobby to be midfield general ? fck me sideways.
I asked this question before but now seems a good time to ask again What position does davey see Bobby Hassell as playing A) Central Midfield B) Right Back C) Centre Back I think he now feels A is his best position and will only play him in B and C in an emergency
I'm glad its not a major clearout then!
What is our average success rate of players brought in? e.g 50/50
