Managerial statistics If we are to get promotion, he needs to boost his win ratio ,a s a p, because what he is averaging at moment means we are going to get 60 points this season ,that would put us in 12th place on the average results of last 4 league 1 results, know our club loves a good stat nowadays so lets hope this is one stat that improves figures below correct upto 8/8/2015 Oldham Athletic 18 March 2013 - 25 February 2015 G 103 W 36 D 32 L 35 34.95 % Barnsley 25 February 2015 - Present G 15 W 5 D 6 L 4 33.33% Total G 118 W 41 D 38 L39 34.75 % heres how are last few managers win stats read , david flitcroft 40.8 % , danny Wilson 40.02% ,mickey mellon 52.9 %,keith hill 41.2 %,simon Davey 27 %, mark robins 37.85 %,mark burton 66 %,andy Ritchie 37 %
He's 34 years old, hes new to managing, of course his record isn't going to look sharp as other managers....
By that logic what you're implying is that all experienced managers have a good win ration %. I don't think stats tell the whole story, particularly as he spent his time before us with Oldham so I get your point.
hes got 118 games under his belt, think the figure will end up being his career stat, if anything the longer you manage the worse your figures are, danny Wilson was on 51 %, until his 2nd spell with us, and alan Clarke was on 44 % on his first spell with us, ending up on 35%, all im saying is to get promotion he needs to boost it to 45 percent, don't think hes got the skills to do it
He was appointed because of the good job he did at oldham.under a very limited budjet he had them hovering around the play offs when they were happy to just survive. How you can criticise him after one game into the season is beyond me.
If he was so average why were the oldham fans so bothered about losing him they were in play off places before he came here. I seem to remember you were one of the first asking for wilson to go if results dont go well for lj no doubt ull be doing same before xmas.
must confess it's something that's confused me, I'm not knocking the bloke just mystified where his reputation comes from
What do win percentage stats prove? What if a manager has a season like the following: P46 W16 D30 L0 PTS 78 Win percentage 34.78% but more than likely in the play offs. Shouldn't you be using ppg? which would have him at 1.36ppg = 63pts a season manager so far in his career.
How many points off the relegation zone were they at the same time though? I personally didnt want him at the time and he's done nothing since being here thats changed my mind, although I hope he does well and we keep with him. Having said that, I dont think he's covered himself in glory with his signings so far and his 'triggers on the pitch' and 'due diligence' is starting to get on my ****ing nerves. Has anyone got lee johnsons points tally from.his.games at oldham and at barnsley someone did it last season I think he would have finished in play offs. Hope this helps ano we lost saturday but he has a three year deal and he needs support no his ability questioning one game in to the season.
I can't deny that I did think that Wilson was the wrong man last time, I can't deny that he was my choice first time round Yes I thought bunny hecky and norm were the perfect fit for us But we have to go with Johnson. All I'm saying is that his record prior to us was no better and mo worse than average We have to keep faith and see where it takes us. It's far too early to make any call.
He's only head coach remember. For some reason the management structure isn't being publicly explained
Yawn... Same old negative garbage. One game in and you are calling for the managers head, and you want Burton back in charge. Are you for real?
We will have lots of sausages for the middle but no bread buns for the width we need to make a good hotdog, but we could try borrowing a few pitta breads from Man Utd catering service then we could push our own mustard and across and back to cover the lack of Gherkins we have at the back and the fill the whole of the centre with lettuce
In Johnson we trust, without him last season we could have been stuck in another relegation battle. He is young ambitious manager building a talented squad. We are not yet finished article, further additions imminent. One slip up but we have 45 games left to play 135 points to play for. League 1 favourites sheff u lost 4-nil to lowly Gillingham. I don't hear them calling for Adkins head. Now that was a bad result!
