Long, but interesting. Won't be up for too long so give it a watch if you're interested - from last year. Nathan is still at the club so Im sure much of this is still in operation. http://www.scienceandfootball.com/videos#clip=1309092&time=
Thanks for posting that. If you can get through the first 5 minutes, it is very interesting. I had no idea that the players are controlled to such an extent. The urine (Mason Holgate) story provides a deep insight into the mind of a professional footballer. The story about the un-named first team squad player who asked to play for the U21s and who failed to impress should also serve to educate the fans that a player is not always physically able to play to his maximum. Lee Johnson's story about his attempts to get the keyboard warriors on-side whilst at Oldham has its correlation to his attempts to do the same sort of stuff whilst going through the bad patch at Barnsley, and it shows how important it was to him having all the fans pulling in the same direction. It is also interesting how far he was prepared to go in order to achieve it. It is a good way to spend 50 minutes, provided you have the time to spare.
Re: POMO - Position of maximum Opportunity Fat Sam loves a POMO. I think Graham Taylor obsessed over them, too.
Re: POMO - Position of maximum Opportunity I wonder if the first team player who played for the U21's he was talking about was Dale Jennings?
Definitely. Thought it was interesting when Nathan started to talk about his mood but LJ cut him off, which he does a few times during that conference.
yes for sure it was Jennings, always noticed he never seemed popular with other players, went towatch training once and he didn't interact with many of team mates ,one bad apple etc, a bit like frimpong in a different way as frimpong just wanted to pi$$ about
