    The referee for Saturday's league opener at Oakwell was the man in charge of Barnsley's last game in League 1. You remember, they beat Swansea at the Millennium Stadium.

    Last season his only City game was the 1 - 1 home draw with Brighton. During the 2005 / 2006 campaign he issued 37 yellow cards and 3 red in 37 games.</div>
