Reports are suggesting Leeds are ready to Sack Farke and replace him with someone else I don't understand why clubs sack managers who win them promotion (Obviously if it is true)
I guess if they think he's going to fail and/or someone better is available then it could be a sensible decision to bin him now rather than in December when they have wasted a transfer window and find themselves off the survival pace. Farke has failed in the Premier League twice already I think (albeit with limited backing). It'd be a brutal, unfair decision but if someone who they are confident is better is available I can see the logic.
See here for a similar reaction to Bournemouth sacking O'Neill for Iraola - https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/gary-o-neil….322804/#post-3128023
Clubs can do what they want. If a bigger club comes in for him, he would be off like a shot. So if they think they can get in someone better to keep them in the Premier League it's their right to do so. Loyalty is overated. Look at when Flicker gave us the great escape and we struggled again the following season because instead of shifting out a load of not up for it players that just had a good little run, he showed loyalty in them and they went back to type.
Let's hypothetically say that Conor had got us consecutive promotions (Nurse, he's out of bed again!) and we sacked him at the end of this season... who would we recruit who's available and proven in the Premier League?
A lot of my Leeds friends really don't like him. Says he has no tactical ability or plan B. He just hopes his quick skillful players can beat a man and if that doesn't work they're knackered. A lot of fans feel same way apparently.
Harsh if true. Twice he got Norwich promoted to the prem and on neither occasion was he backed in the transfer market. Given last summer Leeds sold Gray Rutter Summerville Sinisterra and Kamara and take onto account the players he has brought in I think Farke has done a very good job in getting Leeds up automatically.
I thought when they signed him, this bloke is the perfect fit, much like Klopp at Liverpool. Don't ask me why but it was only a matter of time beforehe got them up imho.
Really? That squad is by far and away the best in the league. If it weren't for Meslier single handedly trying to **** it up for them every week, they'd have plenty more points. Anyone should have been able to get that side autos - including Morais, Poya & Schopp!
He’s good at getting teams out of the championship but not good enough for the premiership - although really he failed with Leeds last season, I think they showed loyalty by not sacking after that.
He’s done well to get them promoted, and getting promoted is obviously never an easy feat, but that team/squad is also very good for that level. I can’t believe he didn’t get them up last season with an even better squad. Does seem harsh but maybe being harsh in terms of coaches and players is what’s needed to stay up as the gap between the divisions is huge.
Who gives a Farke? He'll get a decent managerial job elsewhere. Or failing that, land a part as a baddie in the next Pirates of the Caribbean film.
It's one thing having a team of talented individuals but another making those individuals into a team that gel.
Not having that the side hecky and morais got relegated should have stayed up easily and poya and schopp were even worse. I agree they had a good squad and messier cost them though. But those 3 clowns wouldn't have got them promoted.
Should have walked the league with that squad. would understand it if they sacked him, a lot of their fans aren’t keen. they’ve got a lot of financial clout now and need to use it to stay in the league and push on. I think there are better managers out there.
