Why not? Obviously if we look through our biased we would expect him to come back to us. But look as a neutral and he as a commodity will see a club with a bigger history and bigger crowds and with a better chance of doing well. Can see why nobody would want to manage them because of who their owner is. But players don't have to deal with that. Monk wouldn't be the first ever manager with a Barnsley link to want to have someone who's played for us.
I think it's funny that Leeds, who despite nearly 16 years in the (for them) doldrums of the Championship and League 1, still think they are rivals of Manchester United and that it's only a matter of time before they take their rightful place at the top of the Premier League and in the Champion's League final. Their record over the last 16 years is comparable to ours, and they're now chasing the same players as we are. Shows how far we've come, and how far they've fallen. The Wednesday of West Yorkshire.
No I know obviously they're a bigger and more successful club historically and couldn't blame him for going there But if you're going through 3 managers a season it's not as if it's not going to affect players, is it? So the owner could potentially affect who signs for them. I mean in general, not just Fletcher
Guys stop this blind panic and needless worry...you seem to be forgeting...its the parent club who get to decide where their player goes..yes the player can refuse to a point, but its not in their interest to go against the said grain.....the time to worry would be if we were after him full time..transfer fee, wages and the bigger fish were circling, then we would have a battle on our hands. Best advice....leave the board to get on with the coming season enjoy the cricket..unless you are like me , who doesnt like it, chill out , have a few beers, odd bottle of plonk ( if you are old enough) spend time with the family , look after your health and look forward to climbing on the rollacoaster which is Barnsley Football Club next season ,............ We are in for one hell of a ride.....enjoy the break.....after all, theres, only Roy and his old boys that could cause much anger and frustration in the country..until the new season starts...You Championship Reds
At least he isn't a Leeds fan. Coming from Keighley I was worried he was. He supports Bolton http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...reds-can-break-down-red-devils-door-1-7898090
If we hold onto Sam, Conor and Adam and our other key players there's only one place he will come. Here, he's already said he will and not many players say something outright like that. He loved it here you could tell. It's not like we are in League One now and why can't we finish above Leeds? With our momentum and their mental chairman of course we could. Yeah they are a bigger club but will they have a better squad come the start of August? Maybe only slightly.
And if he does well early in the season his stock will rise and someone will go to Utd and sign him ala drinkwater Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
