according to The Sun this am:

SHEFFIELD UNITED have rejected a £600,000 bid from Yorkshire neighbours Leeds for unsettled striker Geoff Horsfield.

Elland Road boss Kevin Blackwell wanted Horsfield to replace Rob Hulse, who moved to Bramall Lane for £2.3million last week. Blades have told Leeds they want £1m for Horsfield.

thats us out then. i think we've got to look at bringing a young prem striker in on loan with something to prove. just can't see us competing on transfer fee / wages for someone like horsfield.

do you know if luke moore was gettin in last years villa side?

    Thats a strange one

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Blunts offered the Scum Horsfield plus cash for Hulse but they turned it down, in fact I'm certain that was the case coz Warnock went back with a second bid of straight cash.

    Strane goings on

That's a strange one, they only bought him a month ago. Said now they've bought Nicholls they don't need Livermore but hasn't nicholls just done his knee?

could have just taken the 1.5 million plus Horsefield for Hulse surely?

Maybe its pure fabrication, at least Sunderland pulled out of the race to sign him yesterday, and no way is he going back to West Brom, he's too similar to John Hartson.

bizarre isn't it, must be something going on. leeds are having a pretty poor pre season. not sure if blackwell will last too long if they have a bad start, even after last years performance

    Isn't he Derby bound?

Heavily linked with someone in the championship a lot bigger than ourselves

    Could be a case of

Blunts trying to fabricate interest in the hope of a bid coming in, we're 'holinding our nerve' again. reading between the lines, AR has a couple of irons in the fire and is waiting for a phone call to say we can loan someone. dont think we are in the market for a permanent deal, hopefully Horsfields wages are ridiculous and the Blunts wont be able to shift him, then a loan becomes an option.
