Any tips for parking in Leeds? It's been a while since I did it and we're returning to the office part time on Monday so need somewhere to park a couple of days a week. I work near the Headrow, just next to the Bierkeller and don't mind a little walk if it saves some money.

I tend to use the £5 all day outdoor car park as you drive in towards the arches. Been a while with lockdowns but was somewhere near 'Dave's Pies'.

I used to park here when I worked in Leeds. Used to be a fiver a day or 90 for the month. 15 minute walk up to headrow. Screenshot_2021-08-20-12-33-39-97_3d9111e2d3171bf4882369f490c087b4.jpg

They're just starting a consultation to make it less accessible for cars around Leeds City Square.

This is what they are proposing:

Does it involve building a bridge?

We use the pay & display behind Yorkshire TV - 10 mins walk into centre. Not been for some time but it was always reasonable rates.

Park at Outwood and catch the train into Leeds station - £5.50 return, 3-4 trains per hour, just off J41 and 10 minutes to Leeds station.

Thanks for the responses, the Armer one looks good might give that a try.

I used to do the park and ride every day and it’s brilliant, but with COVID still rife I’m not comfortable with public transport yet so that’s why I’m driving.

Make sure you call in to Kirkstall Brewery next time you do that. Arguably the best Tap Room in the country.

Is the train a no no.(not knowing where you live.) Free parking about a tenner return. Barnsley/Leeds ( Petrol and parking probably a similar cost) less Hassle.

Will do for sure. On that note, drove past some new brewpub in Colne a little earlier. Looked interesting - know 'owt of it?

I don’t even know where Colne is! Google suggests Northern Whisper though?

Kirkstall is right next to Yorkshire Television so you’d have to walk right by it to get in to town. They’ve created a pub but built it in a warehouse tap room. It’s pretty incredible.

Yeah that was it. Looks like they've a couple of other taps in Lancs. Some interesting beers. Might try it next time we're over.

I know of free street parking in Leeds, but it is very much a walk for you.

Ivory Street, just behind Crown Point. When I worked in Leeds, you had to get there early due to it filling up quite quick. A mate of mine arrived there at 10 to 9 last week, and his was the only car parked there. We reckon everyone who used to use it is still either working from home, or had been made redundant like we had.

Part of Cross Myrtle Street which it joins up with is also free to park on.

Dead easy to get on and off the M1. [IMG]
