youre wrong about attacking "public on buses". They were probably Man Utd fans being taken back to the bus station. Those onboard were probably Man U fans that had made their own way there for a punch up and had been rounded up by the local police. Of course it doesnt make it ok but it given their hatred of Man Utd its a bit different to attacking the general public.
