Tickets for Pompey’s trip to Leeds on Saturday, October 1 are now on sale to all supporters. Seats for the Elland Road clash – which kicks-off at 3pm – are priced £36 for adults, £29 for seniors (60+) and £25 for juniors (under 16s). Supporters buying concession tickets are advised to bring proof of age identification with them to the game. We will be getting charged these prices as well for our fixture at Elland Road - be lucky to take 500 at them prices :frown: At least the travelling costs aren't as bad..I bet the Pompey fans were livid!
sums up whats wrong with football when you have to pay nearly 40 quid to sit in some of the worst seats in the country
We struggle to shift tickets at £16 That is absolutly discusting, I could say i'm boycotting it, but quite simply, I don't think I can even afford it.
You don't haveto pay - you choose to pay. Personally I wouldn't put one penny piece in Master Bates filthy hands. If everyone did the same he'd have to **** off and find another scam.
They have put them in the side stand so they can charge more, hence why l agree as a non season ticket holder that £30 Cat A is right, we'll give Leeds 7,000 tickets at £30 this season, pity it couldn't be £36.
People banging on about £20 tickets should look at those prices and have a think about why we to have charge what we do.
I won't, because I won't be going - I am not paying that for a championship game, no matter where it is or how big a game it is. There's got to be a limit, and that's well beyond mine.
Why the surprise? We knew after last seasons match that away fans were going to be moved to different area. Where at the time, were £35 seats. They've just increased their price by £1 this year. Seriously considering giving that a miss. Better to stick £61 in a jar (me & lad would have gone), to help pay 20% off next years season ticket.
both my kids asked about ages ago and i said i'd be working, now it could be my day off and need another excuse now, £86 just to get in, add travel and other sundries and i'd be looking at £120ish a few weeks before xmas! think i'll pass this season, one idea would be to plan to go, sod it off and put the money towards a half season ticket?
he's not daft Uncle Ken...he knows for a fact thousands and thousands of muppets will pay it!! who's the mugs in this situation?....certainly not Uncle Kenneth.
It gets better.... Just read this from a Pompey fan site: New songs Fratton End? Try this one: ‘Thirty Six quid, We’ll do what we want!’ Sing ad nauseam. Follow with a brief chorus of, ‘You can stick your f***ing cameras up your a**e!’ This succinct summation of all that is driving fans away from football came from Pompey’s away support at Elland Road last Saturday. Leeds United, claiming to be reeling still from the sick chants exchanged between Leeds and Manchester United fans in their Carling Cup tie, decided to try out a new system for controlling the away fans on the 600 Fratton faithful who made the 500 mile round trip. It went like this: 1.Designate the match Category A. Leeds fans suspect this to be something to do with Ken Bates falling out with West Yorkshire Police. Personally I blame the legendary reputation of the 6.57 crew – but that’s another story. It resulted in a heavy police presence. 2.Move the away support from the draughty South East Corner (Cat A prices: £31, £21 (seniors), £11 (children)) to the West Stand Upper (Prices: £36, £27, £25). West Stand Upper is notoriously difficult to sell to Leeds fans – I don’t think they like the view of the refurbished East Stand that seems to be draining money away from their team at the moment. 3.Cage off a bit of the car park for away fans’ coaches and minibuses so they can channel fans straight into the ground. 4.Police film all supporters getting off the coaches in this cordoned off area. Note: they were highly embarrassed to be filming a coach of Old Age Pensioners and did stop at that point. It has been suggested that nobody told them that WAS the 6.57 crew. 5.Have five police officers especially designated to film and photograph the Pompey fans throughout the match. No doubt the shots they got of the families and toddlers on laps around me were charming. The old chaps nearby were beginning to get giddy with the fame. 6.Designate your roughest, toughest and most threatening looking stewards to the area. Tell them they have to keep the fans seated. Don’t involve the police in this plan. 7.See what happens when you eject as many fans as possible from the ground. They managed 24 I’m told. We are used to being policed and marshalled in less than sympathetic ways but this was something else. For the first time in many years I felt intimidated by the way we were being ‘controlled’ by the Leeds set up. The cameras were obvious and intrusive and the stewards confrontational. Given the nature of football crowds it was inevitable that something would kick off.
