Jay Mac struggled tonight against pace..............was at fault for 1st goal

Golbourne came on and was nowhere for 3rd goal (which is why McNulty got dragged so far out wide left, bang in front of me in East Stand Lower)

REDS looked much stronger in first half of season when we had a regular pairing down each flank at full back and wing ...................Vaz Te / Jay Mac and Hassell or Wiseman / O'Brien

goldbourne got caught out as he was going forward, to be fair the ball to him was shocking, and he was left in no mans land. funny, done had been babysitting jay mac all 2nd half, because he was getting roasted by burke. which everyone with a pair of eyes knew was going to happen

What would you suggest instead, then? Obviously Foster's injured - do you think Golbourne would've coped with Burke better?

They had better players than us. Full stop.

It's obvious Hill is knocking off JayMc lass as why else would he have played him ahead of Golbourne. JayMc scored at 5.5 for me tonight so onwards and upwards as they say

Based on his performance Satdi? 'Cos I think he'd have struggled just as much. Burke is a better player than both of those.

McEveley was out of position, causing McNulty to get dragged out wide and totally misjudge the flight of the ball, leaving King to run in on goal and pull back for Burke who curled delightfully towards goal only to see Edwards nod home inadvertantly past the despairing dive of Steele.

    Circus-like really.

I agree with having settled pairings at full back/winger down each flank working in tandem up and down the pitch together.

Trouble is McEveley, or anyone playing that position, has had very little protection all seasons in front of him with Haynes, Vaz Te (although Hill had him tracking back 1or 2 games til he hit form) and Done.

Last night Done didn`t track back first half and wasn`t in position on numerous occasions to give McEveley an out ball when being challenged.

Jay Mac rightfully gets some stick but its far too OTT for me and then instances like the wonderful ball that just evaded the leaping full back for Done to run onto gets totally overlooked.

I'm no Jay Mac fan but McNulty got done by Marlon King and then it deflected unluckily off Rob Edwards, so I don't see how Jay was to blame for that.

The folk that sit behind me are constantly on JayMac's case.

I can understand if he isn't their favourite player, but he gets dogs abuse everytime he goes near the ball. I was a little surprised they weren't blaming him for the third goal.

Keith could play any number of people in that position including Hassell; Edwards; Golbourne; McNulty; Wiseman.

McNulty misjudging the flight of the ball so awfully cost us the first goal. It's schoolboy stuff, all he had to do was head it out of play and he made a right hash of it. Mceverly was nowhere and their striker went passed Digby way too easily, unfair to point the finger at one person really, it was a comedy of errors for the first goal.

To be fair to McNulty, the ball took a great curve as it bounced up, but he had committed himself trying to head it out of play, as you say, when in hindsight he'd have been better off holding back. Burke then came through with Digby a few yards behind.
