My wife is due her maternity pay for November which still hasn't been honoured, it wasn't paid automatically via BACS on the last day of the month when it should have been, we then had an unpaid cheque, and finally promises of cash deposits - not honoured. Where do we stand here, is small claims the best route or an employment tribunal, or as it's maternity pay will the government stump it up? Couldn't have come at a worse time of year, just to pay the mortgage this month all the pressies bought will have to be unwrapped and taken back for a refund, even the baby's first X mas pressies. As a final insult they're now refusing to take our calls, leaving us totally bewildered. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. (seestars)
Has yr wife got a contract? ID there a maternity policy or grievance procedure? You should try and sort it out via that first. If they don't pay up, you'll have to go to Employment Tribunal. Check your house insurance to see if you've legal expenses cover otherwise you won't get your costs back.
