    Third and Fourth

    Pat went on to play throughout the seventies at the highest level as a regular at Newcastle United , before moving onto Arsenal and Birmingham City . So , therefore , he proved he could cut it with the best .

    Did most of his growing up in Keresforth road, played many an hour in the Rec across the road....  always had a football at his feet.</p>

    He lived round the corner from me , in Gilroyd

    For a while . After he'd moved into the flat with his late wife , he was left with a lot of old newspapers(probably used for packing). As a wide eyed , hero-worshipping 9 year old , I told him I'd take them off his hands . Imagine my shock when I got home and my mother didn't share my enthusiasm for collecting Pat Howard's old papers !!!
