Correct me if i'm wrong but If results go our way, could we not not send them down next week? That would be sweet revenge for them beating us and sending us out of the Prem 10 years ago.

im not sure we can send them down. it will depend on other results not going their way as well, and all that is providing the get beat at the weekend.

i will settle for us staying up, and couldnt care less who goes down.

    It could happen

but seeing as it involves Leeds and Hull winning this weekend I'd rather not, would be far too much pressure for my liking going into that game.....much rather we were 5 points clear before that

As for them sending us out of the Premier….it was a foregone conclusion by that point, just that it was confirmed on that day. That would be like saying if Luton don't win on Saturday that it was that game that sent them down.

For the sake of pedantry it was no forgone conclusion

a win at Leicester would have put us 3 points from survival. We have had to beat Man U on the last day to survive and we had already done that once that season. Unlikely perhaps but technically tha talking ballax

And still, having won the last 2 games, I believe we needed Bolton and Everton to both lose their remaining games.

Most of us knew we were already as good as down.

    Fair enough then

    if you want.

Although I recall thinking before the Leicester game it would take a minor miracle for us to stop up, was already resigned to that fate. It was the Liverpool game that did it for us, seemed to knock the stuffing out of us.

    their biggest game for years.

    Just checked Soccerbase

We finished 5 points behind Everton and Bolton, so winning the last 2 games would have been enough as other results did go our way…mind you would they had we been breathing down their necks? Who knows.
Everton gained 1 point from last 2 games, Bolton got 3 points.

So going into the Leicester game it was

    Everton 39 pts
    Bolton 37 pts
    Barnsley 35 pts
