I don't think he'd get a game at Oakwell, to be honest.

Prefer the midfielders we've got in Etuhu, Dawson and Perkins. Always thought Drinkwater was overrated and it was Butterfield and Vaz te that were the stars of that team. Drinkwater did have two or three good games but he didn't do it consistently like the midfield players we've got now.

Agree with the two above me. I really liked Drinkwater, but I can't see who I'd drop for him, particularly with Dawson coming back.

Drinkwater is too small to be a Championship midfielder. He's too short to head a ball and is always left fighting for the second ball.
    There are joking, right?

Disagree with that a lot jay. I think the midfield worked so well because all the players were so different. Perkins, drinkwater and O'brien defended well. Vazte would cut in and shoot because he got space because butterfield was so good off either foot. O'brien went on the outside a lot and was so good one on one. Perkins won everything in midfield and his good on the ball and drinkwater linked it up so well.

Against Ipswich at home and home and Away against Leicester. Away he was amazing.

Perkins manages doesn't he, and he's a few inches shorter. That's why I think Etuhu compliments him well though.

Everyone we play against rates Perkins, even if he's had a poor game by his standards. It will be an interesting battle when we play Leicester, but a midfield battle I'm confident we'll win.

On there forum last season they seemed to really like Perkins especially away at the King Power.

    Don't dwell on size.

I agree about his talent but to put it down to size i don't think so. Perkins only small and hes a work horse

Got to agree with a lot of what has been posted. I did like him while he was here but our midfield is very strong and I don't think he would get in.

Got to agree on the Perkins point, a lot of other teams fans rate him highly after we play them and we can't be naive enough to think other clubs haven't noticed the same, wouldn't be surprised to see him leaving in the summer- would be devastating for the team on the whole but at the end of the day he is 30 and might want a big pay day at a "bigger fish".

Really, really hope he stays, though.

Daggers is another one I can see generating interest on recent form.

At the start of last season, that midfield of Perks, O'B, Vaz Te, Drinkwater and Butts was fantastic.

Bring Vaz and Drinker back on loan and put Dawson in for Butts and we'll piss this league

Messi, Scholes, Fabregas, Silva, Ince, Deschamps, Cazorla...

Play football the right way and height won't matter.

That's it right there. I'd be amazed if Dorothy is still with us next season. While he will be comfortable on Colchester/Barnsley wages he won't be that well off. His next contract at his age and off the back of his consistant form will be his first and only chance to ever get a decent payday from his football career to make him super comfortable for the rest of his days when his playing career ends. I'm sure a club out there would happily try to unsettle him with a 3 year contract offer of 10k a week, then we'd have to sell an unsettled player who's got 1.5 million on the table waiting to be accepted.

Drinkwater was absolute class, hence why we couldn't afford him and Leicester bought him!

He was the player who made Jacob Butterfield look class he won everyball for him, so that Jacob could play his wonder balls, and when Butts had a bad game Drinkwater always dug us out.

I would have him back anyday
