Why does everyone think its win or relegation? PEople are sayng its bigger than the chelsea game!

The fact is a draw would be good. Cant see Southampton, Cov, blackpool and wednesday all winning. it would be 1 point towards safety.
A defeat would mean we are still outside the bottom three with two to play. Wednesday still have to play leicester.

Come on people! We will stay up with ease.

    agree.....

....I think even if we don't get any more points this season (which won't happen anyway) then we will still probably stay up. Even if we lose the next two, we will go to Cardiff on the last day needing possibly a win or more likely a draw, against a team who have nothing to play for and will want to avoid injuries and suspensions before the cup final. Relegation is really not very likely. I'm very relaxed!

    No it's not

By definition, you cannot over hype!

Anyway, to address your point as to whether it's being hyped - I guess it is, but for me it's certainly a must not lose game if not a must win....yes we may well already have done enough, but I'd rather not go into the last 2 games with our future still being uncertin, we have a great opportunity on Saturday to secure our league status.....let's take it!

    Probably not

As pedantic is just being correct - so is it possible to be "too correct"? I guess not!

Because any word can be put in the dictionary purely because they come into common usage, it does not necessarily mean it is correct usage.

Pedantic isn't just being correct tho' is it?

It's more about paying more attention to detail than is required for the particular circumstance. So I think it is possible to be too pedantic.</p>

    Oh what irony.</p>

Wikipedia - not the best of sources

    And it's a derivation of pre-release order

    So it is correct then

As it's a derivation of correct terminology.

Or are you saying that "don't" isn't a word either?

All words are derived from something

Just because it's happening in your lifetime doesn't make it any less valid.

But pre means occuring before - the process of ordering has nothing before it....it is ordering before the release therefore it is pre-release.

You are just trying to get me wound up....I'm not going to fall for it

    But you've just said yourself

Its a derivative of pre-release order, which is perfectly correct terminology. It is shortening of a phrase which has come into common parlance and therefore is absolutely valid. Like the word "don't" or "won't" or "can't".

    Pre-order, pre-order, pre-order.

My son is a third year English student at Uni...

... and when I raise such words and their usage with him he tells me that English is an organic language and that many words pass from common usage into accepted usage... I said 'Yeh.. like whatever...'</p>

Unfortunately I am still in a world where I don't 'pre-order' and I'm not likely to change. I do think overhype is acceptable though.</p>
