..............which happened about 17 minutes before the full 90 minutes.

Barring in mind that Leicester were 0-3 up by this time...........Steele threw the ball out to Kennedy (I think?) and a Leicester player ran full pelt about 30 yards across the field to close him down before Kennedy could release the ball.

In my opinion.........with the exception of O'Grady, Dawson and probably Jennings, every Leicester player put in 50% more effort than the Barnsley players.

The Leicester players closed us down far quicker when we had the ball - also when they had the ball there was far more effort running to find space to receive the ball.
On the evidence shown - there wasn't that big a difference with the level of skill when comparing the two teams - although they had the added value of a quick striker.

Last year at this time Flicka was in charge of a team that was more up and at them than the current team - and importantly, we didn't have a shed load of loan signings available at that time.

Danny seems to be telling the players to step back from the opposition - this allows defenders of the opposition to push forward which compressors the play in and around the Barnsley 18 yarder.
Consequently when we do get a break away and the ball is passed to Paddy he is stood there on his own with only O'Grady to pass to - and if O'Grady is surrounded by players that are bigger and stronger than he is then Paddy has nowhere to go.
Hence Paddy being brought off and the Big German brought on to hoof the ball straight up the field and totally bypass the midfield.

Danny needs to have more confidence in his players, like Flicka did, and allow the players to push up tight to the opposition defenders.

Very disappointed with how things went last night.............except for the Ponti which was great !!!.........especially under the circumstances.

Or Cranie getting injured for the season stretching for a ball when the offside flag should have been raised 10 seconds earlier

Leicester played exactly how i presumed we would start this season (jut like we ended the last).

They worked hard, didn't give us any time on the ball and got the ball forward qickly without any tip tap *****.

Proof that that style of play is effective in this league. They may have better players than us, but we got out of the **** playing that style of football last season.

Not saying would be top of the league because it still requires a better quality player, but i think If Flicker had continued playing that way he would still be here and we wouldn't be in the ****.

Flicker lost his job for not continuing with the up and at em approach and we don't care who the opposition is from last season. Therefore ridiculous to say or suggest we would be safe if Flicker was in charge.

Leicester just did to us what we did to them last season in the same tie. They were unplayable as we were on that day, as when Hull, Brighton and Watford visited too. They only difference being, we operate on 10% of Leicester's budget and last night it showed.
